It is a system used for ensuring life safety of the workers during the works to be carried out at medium voltage lines (up tp 36 kVa) by grounding energy transmitting lines
by short circuiting them. In other words, it is the hardware that
temporarily short circuits to line between phase-phase and phase-ground during the works to be performed at medium
voltage lines.
Parts on the hot stick end and all other metal parts are made of stainless material. Furthermore, the hot stick
is manufactured as waterproof.
Its features are;
a. Clips can be attached to 477 MCM lines. 3 telescopic clips are suitable for attaching to medium voltage
power cords. (Attachable to wires with the diameter of 20 mm).
b. Grounding cables of the equipment are made of twisted copper conductor, with the section of 16 mm2 and 2 meter tall and descending cable
is made of copper conductor, with the section of 16 mm2 and is minimum 20 m long and they are in the quantity sufficient for reaching to medium voltage lines.
c. Clips, connection branches, grounding and short circuit cables and entire hardware is resistant to short circuit current of 4000A for 1 second.
d. When the hot stick is longer than 2 meters, it is more than one piece.
e. There is a stopper on the hot stick, which prevents movement of the hand forward.
f. Clips are in hardness that will not damage the power lines and be detached from the conductor alone or by the wind while it is attached on it.
g. Clips can be detached easily from the line thanks to 2 clips detachment arrows.
h. Protective outer shield of the grounding and short circuit cable is transparent. It is resistant to oil, weather conditions and wear. Cables have high bending
properties.
i. Grounding clamp has a thumb nut for assembling and disassembling manually on and from the rounding pile.
i. Cable terminals must be inserted to the clips by means of screws.
k. Spring washer must be used again sliding and rotating in bolts and nuts.
I. Grounding pile is 1 meter tall, has a sharp end and made of galvanized steel.
m. The crate housing the grounding equipment is galvanized and locked. The jacket in which the grounding pile and hot stick will be placed is made of waterproof canvas
cloth.
